Review: Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser

Happy New Year everyone! After a relaxing, and much too short, break I'm back at uni and back to work. First order of business before my first day of the spring semester? A review of course!

Mario Badescu's Glycolic Foaming Cleanser ($15) has to be one of my all time favorite skin products. Ever. I've had the same bottle for almost a year and it's still have 3/4 of the bottle! At only $15 that is an ah-maz-ing deal! As stated on the Mario Badescu website: "For dull, congested skin, this lathering, deep cleanser has the exfoliating powers of Glycolic Acid to break down build-up from skins surface, reduce minor discoloration and leave skin radiant and smooth." Sounds great right? Even sensitive skin (or if you're using retinoids or prescription acne medication like I am) can use this!

Mario Badescu's website offers an amazing service: fill out a questionnaire and receive free samples of your recommendations! With mine I received a Enzyme Cleansing Gel (also love; I've actually bought it twice!), Special Cucumber Lotion, Glycolic Cleanser (picture below), Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream (I have the gel version of this, which is quite nice), Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 17, and Strawberry Tonic Mask. If you've never tried their products before this is such a good way to see if their products suit you! Actually, I have quite a few of their products and I love all of them! (Maybe I'll do a post about my favorites of their's in the future?)

Back to their Glycolic Foaming Cleanser- this cleanser really delivers on its promises. Instantly after rinsing your skin feels incredibly smooth and soft, who doesn't want that? Over time I have noticed it helped diminish my acne scars too! 

I cannot stress enough that this is not for everyday use. MB says, "For oily or problematic skin use 2-3 times weekly. For dry or sensitive skin use 1-2 times weekly." Any more than that then your skin will dry out! I use it probably twice a week and occasionally follow with a mask. Think of this like a clarifying shampoo you use to remove any sort of build up. You wouldn't use a clarifying shampoo everyday would you?

Bottom line: Well priced, long lasting, and actually delivers on its promises. I really adore this product, and I truly believe it's a must for everyone!
