Review: MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation

What better to have my first review be about than a product I love?
I bought my first MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation ($27) September 2011. I'm a big fan of powder foundations because, let's be blunt, I have an oily face and Florida's humid weather doesn't help the situation. MAC Studio Fix is described as "a one-step application of foundation and powder. Gives skin a smooth, flawless, all-matte, full-coverage finish. Long-wearing: lasts for up to eight hours. A real all-in-one. The choice of pros, and a long time favourite of M∙A∙C fans." Sounds amazing, right?

Now fast forward to present day, 13 months since I first bought MAC Studio Fix, I've finally ordered myself a new compact. Yepp, you read that right: 13 months. A year and one month. I'm still in shock it's last me this long- and with regular use! If that's not economical, I don't know what is!

MAC Studio Fix provides amazing versatility; depending on your choice of brush you can achieve light to full coverage. I prefer using Real Technique's Buffing Brush for medium/full coverage. Someone with combination, normal, or dry skin can definitely get away without blotting excess shine and oil throughout the day, but if you have oily skin like me then make sure you have them handy around the 4 hour mark. If you add a light layer of translucent powder you can go even longer!

Shine aside, even with my oily skin I almost never have to touch up because product has faded away; it's just that good. With 33 shades, the odds of you finding a color that matches you perfectly are very high. I have yet to find anything that works as well, or better, than Studio Fix; definitely a keeper for me (and many other women)!

0.52oz/15g for $27
